Yes, Jed, Angela, Stacy (et al.) it’s true what you’ve heard. I have indeed finally committed to writing The Book.
At this point only the Infinite Universe (and other Allied Powers) have any idea when it’ll be available for purchase from finer book stores everywhere, but I can at least give you the broad outline. Its purpose is as we discussed after class that day: a complete life-cycle volume on Enterprise Information Security, from Preparation & Prevention, to Detection, through Response, and back to improved Preparation and Preventative Posture, with fairly encyclopedic coverage of all of the necessary activities and programs of work throughout. <whew!>
Thanks, folks, for your insistence that I undertake this task. I expect that it’ll be fairly thankless for months, after which time it’ll become monstrously tedious, finally culminating in Charlie openly wondering if she has a daddy.
On the other hand, once published, I expect it’ll sell feverishly to all the clued-in CSOs and other security program managers everywhere. Dozens of copies at least! Please be sure to buy one for your C-level friends!
:-)
